Davey escapes from the cullsmen and ends up in the Freelands.
He bumps into the Grim who attacked him in the alleyway but he is chased off by one of the guards.
He explores the tenement and finds it is an entirely different world to that in which he has lived.
He sees Grims throwing something on a fire then inhaling the smoke and falling about laughing.
Then a pretty girl tells him that King Solomon has asked to meet with him.
